A&R Painting Services were elected to undertake the internal decoration of Hugh Baird College in Liverpool. The works consisted of preparing and
painting the I.T block, computer block, library area, staircases and associated corridors.
A&R had to work in conjunction with Hugh Baird College to ensure there was no disruption to the student’s classes. The majority of the works was
completed during normal working hours with the odd room and staircase completed over the weekends and Easter holidays. The project was specified
for Leyland Paints, with the main product being Leyland Hardwearing Matt which was applied on all plasterwork. Hardwearing matt was chosen as it’s
a very durable paint which can be easily cleaned.
Throughout the contract A&R had to work alongside different trades such as the electritians, plasterers and joiners etc. The original programme
of works was for the project to last 10 weeks. This changed during the construction and A&R had to adhere to the clients needs and provide
them with more labour to ensure the job was completed on time and to the required standard.
